Civilization Grade

I think I will give myself an A because I put a lot of effort into my project. I spent my weekend building with supplies that I bought myself. I made many trips to Michaels and Home Depot. I made two differnt displays, one to go around the aquarium and one to float on it. I tried to make it look like the medivel castles of Charlemagne. I also carved out my caslte out of clay. I think I did 50% of the work, Maira and I both contributed equally on this part of the project.

Life Science Grade

I think I would give myself an A in the life science portion of my habitat because our aquarium is set up so that the beta fish will be happy and healthy. I also talked to the people at Petco and asked them what a beta fish needs to survive. I bought the water clarifying drops that go into the tank so that it will clear the water so that it will be easier for the fish to breathe. I also learned exactly what food the beta fish needed and how often to feed it. I also found out that a beta fish does not need a filter because in the wild it lives in dirty lakes and puddles. I think I did 50% of the work, Maira and I both split the work equally.

Exhibition Night

I think that exhibition night went very good. I was able to answer the questions that people asked me and many people seemed to like my display. I was able to fit in drama and my core classes. Our aquarium was clean and our classroom was neat. I think exhibition went well and I'm glad that I was able to show off all that I have learned through this project.

Final Preperations

Today was the day that I brought my castle into school. I made sure that it fit around the aquarium, then I covered up all the wires. I rearranged all the posters and interpretive panels to make it look more appealing. Today we turned in everything we have done for our extra projects. I can't wait for media night tomorrow night.

Turret Building

Today I connected my turrets onto my castle. I cut them to size then i sanded them down. After sanding I spray painted them silver, gold and bronze. Then I hot glued on more turrets to make it look more castle like. After I hot glued I painted it more to cover up the glue. I really like my castle and I am proud of how it turned out.

Turret building

Today I worked on building the turrets for my castle. I cut them into the wood, then I spray painted them silver and gold and bronze. Then I drew the bricks on my castle. I drew them with sharpie. I only drew bricks on the two outside sides. I also glue-gunned my bottom portion to make it more sturdy. Even though I was too sick to go to school today I still got a lot done.

Castle Construction

Today Maira and I went to my grandpa's house to build our castle. I also built my welcome sign. We went to Michael's this morning to buy wood and other supplies. We cut all our wood and spray painted it to the color that we wanted. We also went to home depot to find just the color spray paint that we wanted. We left the front of our castle open so that you will be able to see our fish through it. We used cherry wood, plywood and bass wood. I spry painted my welcome sign blue. I made the posts and spray painted them silver. I am going to put silver stick on letters on it that say "Welcome to Zoomanities".
