Civilization Grade
I think I will give myself an A because I put a lot of effort into my project. I spent my weekend building with supplies that I bought myself. I made many trips to Michaels and Home Depot. I made two differnt displays, one to go around the aquarium and one to float on it. I tried to make it look like the medivel castles of Charlemagne. I also carved out my caslte out of clay. I think I did 50% of the work, Maira and I both contributed equally on this part of the project.
Life Science Grade
I think I would give myself an A in the life science portion of my habitat because our aquarium is set up so that the beta fish will be happy and healthy. I also talked to the people at Petco and asked them what a beta fish needs to survive. I bought the water clarifying drops that go into the tank so that it will clear the water so that it will be easier for the fish to breathe. I also learned exactly what food the beta fish needed and how often to feed it. I also found out that a beta fish does not need a filter because in the wild it lives in dirty lakes and puddles. I think I did 50% of the work, Maira and I both split the work equally.

Exhibition Night
I think that exhibition night went very good. I was able to answer the questions that people asked me and many people seemed to like my display. I was able to fit in drama and my core classes. Our aquarium was clean and our classroom was neat. I think exhibition went well and I'm glad that I was able to show off all that I have learned through this project.

Final Preperations
Today was the day that I brought my castle into school. I made sure that it fit around the aquarium, then I covered up all the wires. I rearranged all the posters and interpretive panels to make it look more appealing. Today we turned in everything we have done for our extra projects. I can't wait for media night tomorrow night.

Turret Building
Today I connected my turrets onto my castle. I cut them to size then i sanded them down. After sanding I spray painted them silver, gold and bronze. Then I hot glued on more turrets to make it look more castle like. After I hot glued I painted it more to cover up the glue. I really like my castle and I am proud of how it turned out.

Turret building
Today I worked on building the turrets for my castle. I cut them into the wood, then I spray painted them silver and gold and bronze. Then I drew the bricks on my castle. I drew them with sharpie. I only drew bricks on the two outside sides. I also glue-gunned my bottom portion to make it more sturdy. Even though I was too sick to go to school today I still got a lot done.

Castle Construction
Today Maira and I went to my grandpa's house to build our castle. I also built my welcome sign. We went to Michael's this morning to buy wood and other supplies. We cut all our wood and spray painted it to the color that we wanted. We also went to home depot to find just the color spray paint that we wanted. We left the front of our castle open so that you will be able to see our fish through it. We used cherry wood, plywood and bass wood. I spry painted my welcome sign blue. I made the posts and spray painted them silver. I am going to put silver stick on letters on it that say "Welcome to Zoomanities".

Map Work
Today I worked on my map of the classroom. I had a lot of help from James. I made a spot for each animal and I wrote their name and I put a picture of them next to each exhibit. I made arrows in the places that you would walk. I also made the floor brown and the tables white. I showed what classroom belongs to each teacher. I also showed where you can find each animal. I worked a lot today and I also learned a lot from James.

Handout Work
Today I worked on my handout that will be passed out at our exhibit. I went around to each group and found out exactly what animals will be on display, what makes the animals special, and how their civilization helped to shape history. I typed up a sheet with all of the answers that will explain to our visitors exactly what is going on in our "zoo".

Today I didn't actually do too much work on my Zoomanities project. I went on a field trip to help water and weed at the San Diego River Parks center. We tried to get rid of invasive plants so that we could help the native plants grow. Tomorrow I am planning on going to Michael's to buy wood to build a sign for the class. I am also going to work on my map of the classroom.

Interpretive Panel
Over the weekend I worked a lot on my interpretive panel. I went to Michael's and bought all of the supplies that I needed. Then I went to my grandpa's condo to build it. First we took my foam board and covered with green felt using liquid nails and a staple gun. Then I cut the wood for my turrets. I cut the pieces then nailed them so that they formed a castle like object. Using my grandpa's electric saw I cut into the wood to make things that stick up off the top of the castle. Then I spray painted my castle and board to make it look like a castle. Then I made bricks out of sharpie and covered them with sand. Then I cut a moat out of foam board and painted it blue. Then I made a drawbridge with ropes. Now I am making my timeline with gold puffy paint. I hope this turns out well.

Feeding Process
Our beta fish eats food called BetaBits. They are small brown pebbles that you pour into the aquarium. We buy this food from Petco. You pour in about 4 or 5 pebbles. The beta fish needs to be fed 2 or 3 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Monday's work
Today I worked on laying the stone in my model. Maira and I also decided who will be saying what things for our lesson plan tomorrow. I made the backdrop for our fish's aquarium. I also made the model out of clay that will go in our aquarium. On Friday Maira and I made a clay model to show for our lesson plan tomorrow. After school today I am going to go to the store to get lollipops for rewards to use when we teach our lesson tomorrow. We have had a busy day today and we will see what becomes of our lesson tomorrow.

Planning Time!
Today we planned where we will put our fish. We also decided what exactly we will be saying during our lesson plan. We talked about where we will be buying our fish and what color beta fish we want to get. We alsaled about the cost of the aquarium so that I could pay for half of it. Yesterday we made up questions that we will be using for our game to test if out classmates were paying attention.

Making a Lesson Plan
Maira has been working really hard on our part of the lesson plan. We both worked on the slide show, Maira did a lot of it. We are going to get out fish over the weekend. Maira will buy clay and we are going to work together to build a model of Southern European architecture.
